Dr. Rongliang Qiu is the Vice President of South China Agricultural University. He is also a Professor in Environmental Science and Engineering. As the winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund (2012), he got “State Council Special Allowance” in 2016 and was selected as the Chinese National "Ten-Thousand Talents Program" in 2019. He is currently the Director of “Guangdong Provincial Key Lab of Environmental Pollution Control and Remediation”, the head of National Innovation Team supported byChinese National Ministry of Science and Technology (2018), the head of Centre of Excellence "International Innovation Center for Soil and Groundwater Remediation" approved by the Ministry of Education of China and State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of China(2017), and the Director for the Laboratory's Chinese partner International Associate (LIA) "Ecoland" created in 2015 with LSE. He has been engaged in more than 60 research projects of soil remediation. He has published more than 200 international research papers in academic journals, 46 patents for inventions with 28 patents authorized.


Research Interests:

Phytoremediation of heavy metal contaminated soil;

Acidic deposition and its effect on ecosystem;

Organic pollutants in water and soil environment.
